War

An old song begs the question, "War, what is it good for?" and the answer is absolutely nothing. Sure, there are some justified wars, like Afghanistan, but Iraq was definitely uncalled for. Saddam Hussein wasn't exactly a Nobel Peace Prize nominee, but that gives the United States (or rather the United States' government) no clearance to imperialize third world nations such as Iraq. A few weeks ago it was revealed that George Bush wanted no notification of events occurring in Darfur, Sudan. That's not really an intelligent decision when you're the leader of the free world in almost everyone's (in America's) eyes. And by the way, I didn't get the memo about how it was cool to be a conservative Nazi either. It's ridiculous that someone can get away with going against the United Nations' ruling on the whole ordeal. It can be argued that the UN is now a shell of it's former self, but that doesn't give George Bush or anyone else for that mater the right to push them aside and take control of a matter so fragile as war.
